Preparation
Googly Eyes :
Place parchment paper on baking tray.
Mix powdered sugar and water until consistency is thick but fluid. Add drops of water if the mixture is too thick or a teaspoon of powdered sugar if consistency is too runny.
Transfer paste to piping bag with small tip or Ziplock bag with corner cut out.
Pipe circles about 10 at a time. Plop a chocolate chip on the icing sugar while they’re still wet. Allow to harden overnight.
Chocolate Donuts :
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Spray donut pan with non-stick spray.
In a large bowl, whisk cocoa, all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together. Set aside.
In a different large bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, sour cream, vegetable oil, vanilla extract and milk until fully combined. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and still until just combined.
Using a piping bag or spoon, fill the donut cavities 3/4 full.
Bake for 9-10 minutes or until tester stick comes out clean. Allow donuts to cool 10 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.
Chocolate glaze :
Microwave chocolate chips and cream on high for 25 seconds. Stir and heat again for another 20-25 seconds until melted. Stir until smooth with spatula.
Dip too side of donuts into chocolate glaze and place back on cooling rack to set.
Spider Web :
Once donut glaze has set, place marshmallows in bowl and microwave on high for 15 seconds. Stir with spatula and let cool for a minute.
Assembling the Donuts :
Pick up melted marshmallows with index finger and thumb and stretch like a web. Spread over donut. Repeat on all the donuts, washing hands in-between.
Stick the googly eyes and candy corn onto the melted marshmallows.
