Preheat oven to 350 °F.Butter a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Set aside.In a saucepan, bring all the sauce ingredients to a boil.Simmer for 2 minutes, remove from heat and set aside.In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.In another bowl, combine sugar and butter until smooth and creamy texture.Add the egg and stir well.Add the milk and the flour alternately, then pour in the baking dish.Pour the sauce, do not stir.Bake for 35 minutes, or until golden brown.

  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 cup

    maple syrup
  • 1 cup

    brown sugar
